It’s a number that means so much to my family and me, so to see it on my car for the first time was surreal. I love the red flash designs on both sides of the car. It’s going to look epic on the track.”Shane van Gisbergen dominated his rookie season with Trackhouse Racing. He became the first driver since Jeff Gordon to win three consecutive road-course Cup Series races from the pole position. Additionally, van Gisbergen won NASCAR's first international race in decades at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City.“We’ve gotten a ton better”: Shane van Gisbergen's crew chief expressed his feelings about the oval track program he preparedIn August 2025, Trackhouse Racing driver Shane van Gisbergen's crew chief, Stephen Doran, appeared on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90 for an interview. During the discussion, Doran highlighted how the oval-track program helped the New Zealand-based driver improve in the 2025 season. The Kiwi driver struggled at oval tracks in his rookie season, as he had no prior experience of racing on such tracks. However, his crew chief had a plan prepared in his mind to improve his performance on the oval tracks. Following that, the #97 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver actively competed at oval tracks, and his hard work paid off.Shane van Gisbergen locked in his first oval track victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Legends Car Series in July 2025. Reflecting on that, Doran further explained:"He's equally as good of a student on the ovals, and I think you've seen the progress from the beginning of the year until now. Really, I think since in the All Star race, our oval program has continued to get better. Even Iowa, we had a really good race going, gotten the fence, got the car fixed, and he drove back through the field to 16th with a kind of a dinged up race car, and then ended up getting wrecked again towards the end."Shane van Gisbergen was quick to dominate the road course events in his rookie season. Following that, he clinched five victories, seven top tens, five top fives, and three pole positions in 36 starts this Cup Series season.
