Parsons, son of former Cup Series driver and FOX Sports broadcaster Phil Parsons, is also the nephew of 1973 Cup Series champion Benny Parsons. He had his Truck Series debut in 2018 and has made nearly 100 combined starts across the Xfinity and Truck Series.

Parsons previously piloted Spire Motorsports’ No. 20 Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway, and has also made part-time starts with teams like Young’s Motorsports, Alpha Prime Racing, and Joey Gase Motorsports. His best result this year comes from a 12th-place finish in the Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

In an official briefing from Spire Motorsports, Parsons expressed his eagerness ahead of the upcoming start.

“I’m really excited to have Transportation Charter Services (TCS) on board for my first race with Spire Motorsports. Phoenix is a big market for TCS, and I’m proud to represent them on such a big stage. Spire always brings fast trucks to the track, and I’m ready to go out there and make the most of it," he said.

Stefan Parsons' last outing in the Xfinity Series ended in disappointment, as he wrecked out after a multi-car incident in Stage 1.

Stefan Parsons reveals interaction with Dale Earnhardt Jr. after Bristol DNF

Driving the No.35 Chevy for Joey Gase Motorsports, Stefan Parsons began P13 in the Xfinity Series playoff race at Bristol Motor Speedway. He was running in 15th when contact between Corey Day and Blaine Perkins triggered a chain reaction that collected him. The incident sent Parsons into the inside wall, where he sustained heavy damage and retired to a backmarker finish.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. later found the North Carolina native and shared a brief interaction with him. In a post-race interview with Frontstretch, Parsons divulged details of their exchange.

"He just was, you know, giving me some words of encouragement. I've been fortunate enough to know Dale for quite a few years now and he's just, he's one of the best people in our sport and really cares about all the people in this sport. So, he gave me some words of encouragement, told me to keep my head up, which I really appreciate. It means a lot coming from him," he said. [1:33 onwards]
