Kelley Earnhardt Miller’s son, Wyatt Miller, was left disappointed following the Fall Brawl Limited Late Model race at Hickory Motor Speedway. His day ended early due to damage suffered by his No. 73 JR Motorsports car.

Owned by Kelley Earnhardt and NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., JR Motorsports operates full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The organization also houses several talented late-model drivers like Connor Hall, who currently drives the No. 88 Late Model Stock car.

Hickory Speedway was initially good news for the young racing phenom. He scored his maiden victory in the Limited Late Model division (in March 2025) at the 0.363-mile oval short track in North Carolina. Winning the pole for Saturday’s Fall Brawl gave Miller an early boost in confidence.

However, things didn’t end well for Wyatt Miller, the grandson of Dale Earnhardt, the legendary NASCAR driver. Reflecting on his dismal Hickory outing, Miller wrote via X,

“Not the outcome we were hoping for. Brought a fast @JRMotorsports limited late model to the track tonight. We were running upfront before our night was cut short due to damage. Thank you to my team and to JRM, ready to get back in again soon.”

Next up for Miller is the 360 Winged Desert Series Season Finale Sprint Car event at Vados Speedway Park. Scheduled for 14-15 November, the race will stream live on FloRacing.

Kelley Earnhardt shares personal moment with her legendary father

On February 18, 2001, the entire NASCAR community was left shocked as the final lap of the crown jewel Daytona 500 wrapped up. Kelley Earnhardt lost her own father to a fateful crash with Sterling Marlin, which sent his car spinning into the wall, followed by a direct hit from Ken Schrader.

More than 20 years later, Kelley Earnhardt shared a picture with her father, while she held her newborn daughter, Karsyn Elledge. The photo was taken just weeks before Earnhardt’s untimely demise. Kelley captioned the photo:

“Two months after this picture... he was gone. Life was messy back then, and we weren't living on the best terms seeing Earnhardt to Earnhardt. Stubbornness is a trait of ours. I don't always post about his death. But life is still messy. Everyone's is. Life is just that way.”

“I’m writing this to remind you for relationships that matter to you and it's cliche, but keep the lines of communication open even when it's hard, even when you think you think you are right and they are wrong, even when are mad, discouraged, think it's impossible to be on the same page, communicate anyway.”

Dale Earnhardt is still regarded as one of the greatest athletes the sport has ever seen. During his illustrious NASCAR career, the man amassed a joint-record seven championships and 76 NASCAR Cup Series victories.
