Joey Logano's surprise bald look elicited a wave of reactions from fans and NASCAR personalities. Part-time NASCAR driver and broadcaster Parker Kligerman also called it 'hardcore' on social media.

On Wednesday, November 19, the Team Penske star attended a community event for the development project in the Lake Norman area in Huntersville, North Carolina, with a fully shaved head. Kligerman reacted to the three-time Cup champion's picture from the event, posted by NASCAR reporter Steven Taranto on X, writing:

"Hell yea [Joey Logano] - looks hardcore."

Logano and a Davidson developer won Huntersville's approval for a $255 million project called Town 1 in 2023. The plan includes over 700 apartments, a seven-story office building, a parking deck, and commercial buildings, over 70 acres.

Logano also owns about 24 of the site's 72 acres through Catawba Property Investments LLC. But his bald look grabbed all the attention.

"It's fairly obvious and it will become more obvious" - When Joey Logano on his autoimmune disorder

Joey Logano has previously discussed his early hair loss and a diagnosis of alopecia areata. This incurable autoimmune disorder causes hair to fall in small patches as the body's immune system attacks hair follicles, most visible on the scalp. In 2019, he discovered patchy hair at the back of his head after a haircut and removed his usual hat at a NASCAR media day.

Logano showed off his patchy head during Alopecia Awareness Month in September that year and said, via NY Times:

"It's fairly obvious, and it will become more obvious, most likely. It's funny no one is comfortable enough asking about it, which is kind of weird to me.
"I'm the kind of person who would see something and be like, 'Hey man, you OK?' Some people don't say a word about it, but I know they're looking. That's why I decided to do this, because it's obvious people are staring."

The 35-year-old also worked with HairClub to raise awareness for people facing similar issues and got a hair replacement system. He shared a video on Instagram to show off his hair in 2022 and wrote:

"For years I've battled with alopecia and early hair loss. Many don’t notice since I wear a hat or helmet most of the time. I decided to do something about it, and I couldn't be happier."

In the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series, Joey Logano wrapped up the season in seventh place in the standings. He collected seven top-five and 13 top-10 finishes. His one win came at Texas Motor Speedway, where he drove from 27th to take the checkered flag.
