NASCAR's AJ Allmendinger is slated for his 16th Rolex 24 start with Acura Meyer Shank Racing. The Kaulig Racing driver helped MSR secure their breakthrough overall Rolex 24 win in 2012.It's been five years since Allmendinger drove an MSR entry, when he last competed in the previous-generation Acura ARX-05. This time around, he'll headline the Daytona race with the No.60 Acura.Allmendinger has two Daytona podiums with MSR, a third place in 2013 and a second in 2018. Moreover, the 43-year-old holds a unique NASCAR record at Daytona, being the only driver with the most starts without a DNF.Allmendinger reflected upon the reunion and said(via Meyershankracing.com)"Mike Shank is one of the most important people in my life. Together, the two drivers will begin preparations at an IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway. The practice is scheduled for November 14-15.Allmendinger has three NASCAR wins to his name, all of which came from road courses.
