Alongside Cup Series driver Austin Cindric, the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Jesse Love also debuted in the Supercars Series in Adelaide. However, Love's maiden race didn't go as planned, as he faced a major mechanical issue during the initial laps.

The Richard Childress Racing driver qualified 19th in the Dunlop Super2 Series Qualifying Race 1 on Friday, November 28, 2025. He achieved a best time of 1:20.913 minutes and was 1.01024 seconds behind the leader, Rylan Gray. Following that, during the main event on November 29, Love was out of the race on Lap 2 and entered pit road.

According to Zac Dowdell at Supercars.com, Jesse Love faced a similar issue to Kelly Racing driver Cameron McLeod. In the Kelly Racing-prepared Mustang, McLeod blew his front shock absorber, leading to his exit from the 40-minute race. The NASCAR driver was also in the same boat.

However, eventually he rejoined the race, but it was too late. In the Supercars Series, if a driver fails to complete a certain number of laps, they are listed under the Not Classified category. Love was not alone in the NC category. He was followed by Cameron McLeod, Cody Gills, and Max Geoghegan. Meanwhile, Rylan Gray won the event in his TickFord Autosport ride.

"We've been through a lot together": Jesse Love opened up about the "most special person" in his life

In mid-November 2025, NASCAR driver Jesse Love was featured in an interview. During the premiere episode of RISING, a new motorsports documentary series focusing on the young generation, Love expressed his feelings about his relationship with his father.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series driver explained that his father played a crucial role in forming his career. Love highlighted that despite having a good car, his father made things difficult for him to deal with those situations during the main events. He added that his father sometimes made the car too loose or too tight to push him and train him.

Following that, Jesse Love claimed that his father had "sacrificed" a lot for him and that scoring well was a way of thanking him. The NASCAR driver further explained:

"My dad told me this about a few years ago. He was like, If I knew we were going to a weekend and we, like, had an advantage on the field, like, we have fresh motor and had good tires and new shocks and springs and whatnot. He was like, I would make your car plow or make your car super loose, just to make you, like, work at it and not just go out there and learn nothing and lead every lap."

“He's the most special person in my life. You know, we've been through a lot together, and he just sacrificed a lot for me and put his life on hold. So, yeah, it's the only way I know how to say thank you to him. So it feels he's the reason I want to do this. I feel like that's somewhere the closest.”

Jesse Love debuted in the Xfinity Series in 2024 with Richard Childress Racing. Since then, he has been piloting the #2 Chevy and has logged three victories, along with a championship title. Love will return to the 2026 season with RCR and pilot the same entry throughout the season.
