NASCAR veteran Mark Martin recently gave a blunt reply to a fan for criticizing his workout routine. The feud began when Martin initially shared his morning workout playlist on X, and a fan asked him about his reps and sets.

Following that, the former Cup Series driver shared the stats of his workout plan. Martin begins his current workout with five sets of flat bench press, followed by 20, 15, 12, 10, and 8 reps. He then performs a similar regimen for decline and incline bench press. After his bench press session, the former NASCAR driver performed five sets of military press with 12 reps in each set.

Mark Martin wraps his intense chest and shoulder workout with five sets of lateral raises, hitting 12 reps each set. Martin also claimed to change his plan with every workout. However, the fan called out the NASCAR veteran for following an extreme workout plan, calling it a waste of time. He wrote:

"Wasting your time brother. At our age for chest and shoulders only do 3x12 @ 30degree for chest Then 3x12 seated dumbell press for shoulders. Almost overkill at that. This is every fourth day. Do aerobic daily at 80% peak heartrate."

Reflecting on that, Mark Martin had a subtle reply for the critic and wrote:

"Compare my chest and shoulders to yours my brother before you try to teach me something."

Despite being 66 years old, Martin still follows a workout plan that could give youngsters a run for their money. Also, some of the fans were amazed by his dedication to staying in shape in the comments.

“It was never about me”: Mark Martin expressed his views on the NASCAR points system

In November 2025, former NASCAR Cup Series driver Mark Martin was featured on the Kenny Wallace show and shared his feelings on the current points system. During the podcast, Martin called out the current system and revealed the reason for not being in favor of the format.

In the clip, Martin claimed that the criticism was not personal. He highlighted that he spent time with fans both on and off track and encapsulated their claims into a statement. He told Wallace:

"Well, you know, I just listened to the fans. Basically, it was not about me. It was never about me. If it was my feelings. I would have never voiced them so loudly, interesting, but I the fans needed a voice. I heard them. I was with them. I was out in the field with them. I was at racetracks. I read the social media and the comments, and I just felt like that. I could be their voice."

The current format features three elimination rounds with three races each round, ahead of the one-race championship title decider. Each round eliminates the four lowest-scoring drivers until only four remain to compete in the final race. This year, Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson outperformed the season-dominant driver Denny Hamlin in the Championship 4 race and secured his second title.
