Hailie Deegan recently offered a look into her offseason routine on Instagram. The HMD Motorsports rookie completed her first season in the INDY NXT championship.
Deegan posed in a black bralette and matching sweatpants and wrote:
“Lil afternoon lift”

The update arrived as Hailie Deegan continues working toward her next step after a challenging debut year in open-wheel racing. 2025 was Deegan’s first full campaign outside the stock-car ladder. She rose through ARCA with early success, moved into the Truck Series, and later stepped up to the Xfinity Series before pivoting to INDY NXT. She joined HMD Motorsports, stepping into the #38 entry for her first open-wheel experience.
The learning curve was steep as Deegan finished 14th in the standings with 202 points. Her best qualifying run came at World Wide Technology Raceway, where she started 10th, and her best finish was 14th. Away from the track, Deegan has kept training consistently while leaving her options open for 2026.
While her plans for next year remain uncertain, her brother, Haiden Deegan, recently signed a new multi-year deal with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing to race in the premier 450 class, 2026.
Hailie Deegan’s 2026 decision looms as NASCAR and INDY NXT options remain open

While Hailie Deegan's 2025 INDY NXT results were not headline-grabbing, the switch has already shown value. She has expressed interest in continuing her development next year, though nothing has been announced for 2026. Her current deal covered a single season, and HMD Motorsports has already begun assembling its 2026 lineup.
Emmo Fittipaldi became the second rookie named to next year’s roster this week. Australian prospect Jack Beeton was announced earlier after both drivers tested with the team during the Chris Griffis Memorial Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Their signings may signal that her next move is still being evaluated.
Amid her open-wheel exploration, talk of a potential return to NASCAR has never fully gone quiet. Earlier this year, speculation linked her to several Truck Series openings. Ty Majeski’s move to the No. 88 at ThorSport for 2026 leaves his No. 98 truck unassigned, and Kaulig Racing is still finalizing two seats for its RAM-backed Truck program debut. Those options keep the door open should she decide to return to stock-car racing.
The timeline for her decision is tight as the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season begins Sunday, March 1, on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
