Flo Racing uploaded the video as part of their coverage from Five Flags Speedway. They spoke to Busch about how his weekend was going and the changes his team made after final practice. He has five previous starts in the event with wins in 2009 and 2017. Adding his son to the equation, Kyle Busch said,

“This is cool. Yeah, I mean, shoot, it's probably two years until he gets down here to run his own in the Snowflake, you know.” [1:30]

The interviewer then told Brexton to remember what his father said. Brexton replied,

“I heard it. I heard it.”

Busch is returning to the Snowball Derby for the first time in five years. He is driving the No. 51 Lucas Oil entry for Bryson Lopez Racing. Danny Stockman is leading the team after guiding Jesse Love and Richard Childress Racing to the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series title.

The Snowball Derby is one of the biggest short-track races in the country. It attracts many NASCAR drivers each year. This year’s lineup includes names like John Hunter Nemechek, Noah Gragson, and Ryan Preece, along with several Xfinity and Truck Series drivers.

This year the event will take place from December 4 to 7, with practice, qualifying, and the main race spread across the weekend. Kyle Busch made his return announcement back in November.

KBM shut down in 2023 after more than ten years in the Truck Series. The team’s Mooresville facility and Rowdy Manufacturing operations were sold to Spire Motorsports at that time.

Busch had explained that running the team had become difficult while balancing family responsibilities and his Cup career. Now, two years later, he is clearing out what is left from KBM. He shared the news on X with the caption:

“🚨KBM Garage Sale next Tuesday & Wednesday!”

The 40-year-old has come off a second straight winless season. He ended the 2025 schedule with a top five at Phoenix. His average finish was 17 with 88 laps led across 36 starts.

Even with a tough year, he said he is ready for a fresh start. Jim Pohlman will lead the No. 8 team next season. Pohlman previously worked in research and development at Richard Childress Racing and served as Justin Allgaier’s crew chief.

Austin Dillon said Pohlman’s technical background was a major reason for signing him. Kyle Busch said he is excited to begin the new chapter while also closing out the final pieces of his KBM legacy.
