During a 2014 interview with USA Today, Kasey Kahne shared his vision for the type of racetrack he would build if he had an unlimited budget and a $5 million paycheck.
Kahne spent several seasons in the NASCAR Cup Series before stepping away in 2018 due to health issues. He later shifted his focus to Kasey Kahne Racing, where he now works full-time as the team owner. Kahne has also made occasional appearances in stock car racing, including an Xfinity Series run at Rockingham in April.
In the USA Today interview, Kahne was asked what kind of track he would create if he had total freedom. Kahne said he would build a track like Rockingham and Memphis.
"That one looks awesome. The races there were just spectacular. And another track we don't race at now that was just perfect to drive on is Memphis. So I'd say those two tracks," he said.
Kahne added that if he could change every track on the NASCAR schedule, he would.
βwave a wand and do something to all the tracks on the circuit, Iβd age all of the pavement about 20 years," he added.
Kahne continues to appear in NASCAR conversations because of the changes coming in 2026. Kaulig Racing will expand into the Truck Series with Ram. This move has led fans to ask if Kahne could return for a few races, given that he once drove for Dodge.
Kaulig Racing CEO Chris Rice spoke about this on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, saying Kaulig does not have a contract with Kahne but he is not ruled out.
Kahne has not pushed for a full return. He parked his No. 9 car in 2025 so he could work on ownership duties.
Kasey Kahne looks back on his High Limit Racing season with a message for supporters
Kahne shared his thoughts at the end of the High Limit Racing season. Kasey Kahne Racing posted on X, thanking the partners, sponsors, and everyone who supported the team throughout the year. Kahne said he appreciated the work that went into each race and wanted to acknowledge every person who helped the group.
In 2025, Kasey Kahne ran 27 races without a feature win. He led 10 laps and earned two top fives and nine top 10s. His average finish was just over 14, which was close to his average starting spot. The results showed memorable as well as rough nights, but Kahne kept the team moving forward.
Kasey Kahne Racing shared his message on X.
βAs we look back not just on this past year, but on every lap, every late night, and every milestone since the very beginning weβre reminded of how lucky we are...To every sponsor, supporter, and teammate whoβs had our back: thank you. Your trust, your energy, and your commitment fuel us just as much as horsepower does," he said.
Kasey Kahneβs season had great moments. He finished second at Central Arizona Raceway and at Kern Raceway. He also had difficult races, including 23rd at Fremont and 26th at Port Royal. There were many mid-pack finishes, which made his season challenging.
