Trackhouse Racing is in the process of bringing back its all-star program next season in the NASCAR Cup Series, according to team owner Justin Marks.Sports Business Journal's Adam Stern reported that the team's Project 91, which brought Shane van Gisbergen to NASCAR in a part-time No. 91 Chevrolet and launched his US career, was alive and that Trackhouse was close to a deal to bring it back for 2026."No, it's never dead, never ever ever dead, ever dead. Where Project 91 is now is we go promote the program in the sponsorship market and sign a sponsor, and then we try to work with the sponsor on what kind of athlete they'd like to see. I would bet on it coming back in '26, and we're pretty close to getting that deal done. There' some good opportunities," Justin Marks said.Project 91 began as Trackhouse's vehicle to bring big-name drivers into a part-time Chevrolet No. 91. The program first ran in 2022, and Van Gisbergen won his NASCAR debut in the Project 91 car at the Chicago street race the following year. That result changed his career. The one-race chance turned into a full-time Xfinity season and then a record-breaking rookie Cup season with five wins.Trackhouse has now signed the Kiwi driver to a multi-year extension. Connor Zilisch, who also broke multiple records in his rookie Xfinity season with JR Motorsports, is also set to join the team full-time in 2026.The team is on track to add a new name to its previous global motorsport star lineup of F1 champion Kimi Räikkönen and four-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves in the NASCAR Cup Series."They're bringing in Max aren't they" - NASCAR fans react to Justin Marks' Trackhouse No. 91 teamWhile Justin Marks did not reveal the driver for the No. 91 Chevy, fans shared their top pick on social media. NASCAR fans reacted to Adam Stern's post about the return of Project 91, and many shared pleas for F1 champion Max Verstappen to make an appearance."They're bringing in Max arent they," a fan asked."Please convince max to do it somehow," another wrote."Verstappen to Daytona," yet another shared.Meanwhile, Justin Marks also revealed Red Bull's interest in expanding beyond stock cars. Trackhouse now operates in multiple series, including two teams in MotoGP, and might move into other series with the Austrian energy drink company.Red Bull rejoined NASCAR as a Trackhouse partner this season and sponsored Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch in select Cup races.
