John Force Racing has confirmed major news. They recently welcomed Alexis DeJoria to the Funny Car program in 2026. They made the announcement through a post on X.DeJoria is a six-time NHRA Funny Car winner and the current driver of the Bandero Premium Tequila Chevy Camaro. John Force Racing is expanding to a four-car lineup, which will include Josh Hart in Top Fuel, Jack Beckman in Funny Car, DeJoria in Funny Car, and another Funny Car driver who is yet to be named.Talks between DeJoria and John Force Racing began near the end of 2024 but did not materialize for 2025. When the offer returned for 2026, she moved forward with the switch.In the post, the team wrote that Alexis DeJoria is joining the team for 2026. They shared a quote from team CEO and sixteen-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force.“Alexis is a fierce competitor who has earned her place in the Funny Car ranks and it’s great to have her become the newest member of our team.”“I’m obviously pretty familiar with the dynamic between father and daughter competing in NHRA drag racing so I respect and admire what Alexis and her father, John Paul, have built together over the years.”As per Autoweek, DeJoria said the timing did not work for 2025, but the reopening of the opportunity for 2026 made the decision clear. She also said that switching teams brings an adjustment period, and she plans to use the early weeks next season to understand the group’s style. She added that she is competitive and ready to start strong with the level of equipment John Force Racing provides.DeJoria considers Del Worsham and John Force her biggest influences. She has raced against Force many times and earned several milestone wins in matchups with him. She also said that becoming the first female Funny Car world champion remains her goal, and the record of John Force Racing in the class gives her confidence.Brittany Force prepares for a new chapter after John Force RacingBrittany Force will step away from full-time NHRA racing after the 2025 season. She announced the decision in September as she and her husband, Bobby Lyons, get ready to start a family. Brittany has raced for John Force Racing since her 2013 debut in the HendrickCars.com Top Fuel dragster.The 39-year-old has nineteen Top Fuel wins, which makes her the most successful female driver in NHRA Top Fuel history. She became the first woman since Shirley Muldowney in 1982 to win the Top Fuel world title when she earned the championship in 2017.
