Gordon debuted in the Cup Series with Hendrick Motorsports in 1992, competing in a single race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He then landed a full-time seat with the team in 1993 and piloted the iconic #24 Chevy. Gordon stayed with the team until his retirement in 2015. During his career, the HMS driver clinched three Daytona 500 victories along with two poles at the 2.5-mile track.

Following a remarkable career in the Cup Series, Jeff Gordon faced multiple angry drivers after a race. However, the #24 Chevy driver had his own way of dealing with these situations and explained (via USAToday.com):

"It depends on the situation. If I feel like I was completely at fault and made a really bad decision, and I have the opportunity to go over there and say I messed up, then I would. If I didn’t have the opportunity, I’d probably call or text them if I had their number. Otherwise, I’d let it kind of settle down a little bit and go see them in person the next week."

Jeff Gordon clinched 93 victories, 325 top fives, 475 top tens, and 81 pole positions in 797 starts in his 25-year career. Additionally, he earned four Cup Series championship titles in the 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2001 seasons.

After spending over two decades with the team, Gordon left the team in 2015. Following his departure, he began a career in broadcasting. The 54-year-old driver spent six years with FOX Sports before he got the opportunity to join HMS again.

Jeff Gordon didn't think twice and grabbed the chance to be with Hendrick Motorsports again and joined as vice chairman in 2021. Following that, Gordon told the media:

"I cannot put into words what Hendrick Motorsports means to me. In many ways, it’s my home, and the people here are my family. I’ve never lost my passion for the organization, for our sport, and for the sheer challenge of racing and winning at the highest level. Being part of the competition is where I’m happiest and feel I can make the biggest contribution to the continued, long-term success of the team."

Hendrick Motorsports has secured 15 Cup Series championship titles and fields four entries in the series. The two-time champion Kyle Larson pilots the #5 Chevy Camaro ZL1, followed by William Byron in Jeff Gordon's #24 Chevy, Chase Elliott in the #9, and Alex Bowman in the #48 ride.
