Before the update Dillon had been working toward more stability in his Cup Series career. Kaulig Racing then released further information. They announced that Ty Dillon will stay in the No. 10 Chevrolet for 2026 with Sea Best returning as the primary sponsor for eight races.

The team also confirmed Andrew Dickeson’s return which gives Dillon the same leadership on race days that he had this past season. In the tweet, the account shared Dillon’s message where he said he is coming back to the No. 10 Chevrolet next season,

The 33 year old driver ran five races for the team in 2024 before joining full time in 2025. He finished 33rd in the standings in 2025 but made headlines during the first ever In Season Challenge. He reached the final at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and came up short against Gibbs. Even so the run showed he could compete under pressure.

Sea Best first supported Dillon in 2024 and continued for half the schedule in 2025. Their return in 2026 shows long term support. Since his Cup debut in 2014 Ty Dillon has completed seven full time seasons.

When Ty Dillon’s Las Vegas crash changed his race day

The Las Vegas race earlier in the season gave Ty Dillon one of his hardest moments. During the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway he was involved in a major crash that ended his day along with William Byron’s. This incident shaped part of the story leading into his 2026 return.

William Byron had started strong. He qualified inside the top five with a fast lap. Ty Dillon began the race from P35 and struggled with pace from the start. With 31 laps left Dillon slowed down to enter pit road.

Byron was running second at that moment and came up behind him with no room to react. He hit the back of Dillon’s No. 10 Chevrolet which caused a heavy collision. John Hunter Nemechek got caught in the aftermath but managed to continue.

The impact forced Dillon and Byron out of the race. Speaking to reporters after the crash Dillon explained what happened. NBC Sports quoted him saying:

“Yeah, it was a rough day for our team. There was something wrong with our car, and we were hoping to get back to the shop and diagnose that... Unfortunately, I hate it for Hendrick and the Chevrolet guys it happened that way. I’m not even looking out the mirror at that point. I’m just trying to hit my marks to get on pit road.”

He added, “He hit me hard. Unfortunate way for that to happen. That was pretty much the line I had taken (to the pits) all day. I don’t think I was egregious in that. Maybe just a lack of information being transferred.”

Byron finished P36 and Ty Dillon finished P37. Nemechek recovered and placed P29. The crash did not define Dillon’s season but it was a key moment that tested him before he secured his future with Kaulig Racing for 2026.
