Joe Gibbs’ grandson Ty Gibbs paid tribute to NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick with an emotional birthday message that highlighted the former NASCAR champion’s profound influence on the younger generation. Harvick turned 50 on Monday (December 8).
Retired NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick is regarded as one of the most accomplished NASCAR drivers. He retired from the full-time racing after the 2023 season. He won the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series championship as well as the 2001 and 2006 O'Reilly Auto Parts Series championships. His 121 wins across NASCAR's three national series currently rank him third all-time in NASCAR history.
Ty Gibbs took a moment on Instagram to honor Kevin Harvick, one of the sport’s most respected champions, with a heartwarming birthday note on his special day.
Sharing a candid picture of himself beside Harvick, Gibbs wrote:
“Happy birthday, KH. Thank you for everything you've done for me. I appreciate your support, and I can't thank you enough for all that you've done.”

Ty Gibbs, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for his grandfather’s team, Joe Gibbs Racing, appears to be among those who have benefited from Harvick’s guidance, whether through on-track advice, conversations at the hauler, or shared moments away from the spotlight.
The 23-year-old driver from Charlotte, North Carolina, wrapped up his 2025 campaign at 19th place in the Cup Series championship standings. He scored five top-five and 10 top-10 finishes with an average finish of 17.8 in 36 races.
“My dad took me to Italy when I was 10”: Kevin Harvick’s son recalls the sacrifices his father made for him
Kevin Harvick’s son Keelan became the youngest Snowflake 125 winner in history last weekend. The 13-year-old Keelan emerged victorious after taking the lead for the final time from Tristan McKee with 24 laps to go and then survived the final restart to take the checkered flag.
After winning the Snowflake 125, Keelan spoke about the sacrifices his family has made to support his racing journey. By recalling how his father took him to Italy at just 10 years old to compete against much more advanced young drivers, Keelan said:
“It’s just really cool. [I’m thankful for] everything that everybody has sacrificed for me to get to this point. My dad took me to Italy when I was 10 to get the experience with all the other kids who are so much better. That helped me understand the value of racing and helped me get to this point.”
The Snowflake 125 victory marked the biggest win of Keelan’s young career and came in the nation's biggest Pro Late Model race at the young age of 13 years, 4 months, and 29 days.
