Barrett, who is also a Hollywood stuntman, has raced in all major NASCAR national divisions and even tried his hand at IndyCar. The 53-year-old team owner began racing in the early 1990s and logged some 230 national-series starts, mostly in the second-tier series.

SBM and CFR will jointly field the No. 30 Chevrolet next season. The car will be crew-chiefed by veteran George Church. The drivers and sponsors have not yet been decided, but fans on social media are celebrating wildly.

"Who would've thought Stanton Barrett Motorsports would resurface. Hell yeah," another shared.
"Didn't have Stanton Barrett partnering up with Derrike Cope in 2026 on my bingo card #NASCAR," yet another replied.

Colby Evans, photographer at The Racing Experts, also chimed in, writing:

"This is straight out of the mid 2000s level NASCAR announcement I like this a lot, Great to See Stanton back in the sport full time."

CFR debuted in 2002 and revived itself this season with a fresh entry into the O'Reilly. The team fielded the No. 70 Chevrolet split between Leland Honeyman Jr. and Thomas Annunziata with engines from ECR Engines and the car built by Richard Childress Racing.

Veteran racer Derrike Cope's co-owned team will now switch to the No. 30 team, a number SBM ran in the late 2000s.

SBM started in 2001 and competed in NASCAR's Cup, O'Reilly, and Truck series throughout the 2000s. The team's last full runs ended around 2008 but it made a brief Truck-series appearance in 2015 with Barrett driving. After that, SBM went quiet in major NASCAR competition.

"Derrike has been a staple in the racing industry and someone that I have great respect for. We collectively bring over 70 years as owners and drivers at the highest levels of NASCAR," Barrett said in a statement.

Barrett has also worked on more than 300 films and TV shows. He performed stunt work on films like Spider-Man, Jurassic Park, Blade, Batman, and Jumanji.
