Nicknamed ‘Fast Pasta’, Anthony Alfredo last competed in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (previously known as Xfinity), driving the No. 42 Chevy Camaro SS for Young Motorsports. He also wheeled the No. 62 Beard Motorsports entry in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Most recently, Alfredo bagged a P23 finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series season finale race at Phoenix Raceway. He didn’t make the playoffs this year but finished the season 24th in points with one top-10, one lap led, and a 24.1 average finishing position. Young Motorsports has yet to name a new driver for the No. 42 team for its 2026 campaign.

Next up is the United Rentals 300 at the iconic Daytona International Speedway. Scheduled for February 14, 2026, the 120-lap event will be televised on CW starting from 5 pm ET. Fans can listen to radio updates as well on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

When Hendrick Motorsports had Anthony Alfredo on standby for Alex Bowman’s Mexico outing

Back in June, when NASCAR hosted its first Cup Series event at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, Hendrick Motorsports tabbed Anthony Alfredo as a standby for Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Chevy Camaro. Bowman, who entered his eighth full season with HMS in 2025, was evaluated for back pain following a multi-car crash at Michigan International Speedway.

On Lap 67 of the regular-season Cup Series event at Michigan, Bowman made contact with former Xfinity Series driver Cole Custer, following which, he ran straight into the outside wall, ending his day early. He was cleared for the following week’s race in Mexico, but his team decided to play it safe with Alfredo as the primary simulator driver.

“That hurt a lot,” Bowman said of the crash. “That was probably top of the board on hits I’ve taken, and unfortunately I’ve had a lot of hits. So I hate that for the 48 team. Couldn’t really do anything except think about ‘Oh (expletive) this is about to hurt really bad.’ Hate that. Hate that for our team.”

In the end, Anthony Alfredo didn’t need to fill in for Bowman. The HMS icon bagged a P4 finish in the Viva Mexico 250, which was held on June 15, 2025. Shane van Gisbergen won the race, while the top five spots were rounded off by Christopher Bell, Chase Elliott, Bowman, and Michael McDowell.
