With the trial in Charlotte, North Carolina, now in its third day, Front Row Motorsports owner Bob Jenkins revealed some shocking facts about his team’s tenure in the NASCAR Cup Series. As reported by Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, FRM, which was forced to run nine points races without a sponsor in 2025, lost $16.3 million over the last three years and about $70 million in the previous 11 years.

Front Row Motorsports is currently in a legal battle with NASCAR regarding alleged monopolistic practices. It all started with NASCAR asking Cup Series teams to sign a new charter deal ahead of the 2024 season. FRM and 23XI were the only two organizations that not only didn’t sign the ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ charter offer but also lodged an antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR.

During Wednesday’s trial, Jenkins disclosed just how much money the team loses each year competing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. As reported by Pockrass on X, the amount is a staggering $6.8 million per year.

“Front Row loses $6.8 million per year. He (Jenkins) has never made a profit, nor has he even taken a salary from FRM. He had nine unsponsored races this year where he ran his own companies on the car to avoid a blank car.”
“Pre Next Gen he spent $1.8 million per year on parts; with Next Gen he spends $4.7 million a year on parts,” Pockrass continued. “It costs $30k to repair a non-wrecked car each week because the nose and tail must be sent back regardless to the vendor and teams cannot repair it themselves.”

The trial will continue on Thursday, and as far as racing goes, the action will resume on February 1, 2026, with the Cook Out Clash at the iconic Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Fans can watch the race live on FOX (8 p.m. ET onwards) or listen to exclusive radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

When NASCAR accused Front Row Motorsports of making false antitrust claims

Days ahead of the final trials, Jim France and NASCAR accused Front Row Motorsports and 23XI Racing of making false statements about how an unchartered NASCAR Cup Series campaign could harm the teams. They also suggested that the teams were presenting artificially produced evidence to support their cause.

“23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports, Inc. (collectively ‘Plaintiffs’) and their counsel should not be sanctioned for making false statements in December 2024 declarations and manufacturing evidence that they submitted to the Court in support of Plaintiffs’ Second Motion for a Preliminary Injunction,” an official statement by NASCAR read.

The plaintiffs denied the accusations. In response to the filing, 23XI Racing and Front Row attorney Jeffrey Kessler said,

“This is yet another baseless distraction intended to try to divert the Court’s attention from the overwhelming evidence that demonstrates that Jim France and NASCAR have been operating an unlawful monopoly that has hurt not just my clients, but all of stock car racing.”

There is about a week left before the ongoing trial wraps up. If NASCAR wins, the plaintiffs will be rendered charterless. They might even drop out of their respective Cup Series programs. However, if Front Row Motorsports and 23XI win, NASCAR’s business model could change forever.
