Speaking to the media ahead of the Phoenix championship race, Logano admitted Team Penske was not good enough to win back-to-back this year. According to the veteran, the teams need to evaluate and work on their mistakes during the off-season.

“I think it’s important to take a second and take a breather. You’ve got to do something different because what we did wasn’t good enough, so you can’t do the same thing and expect a different outcome. We have to look to do some different things, and how can we approach things differently. How do we approach race weekend? What do we have to do to be faster on the race track?” the #22 Ford driver said, as per NASCAR.

On fixing the weakness ahead of the 2026 NASCAR season, Logano said:

We weren’t good enough, so we have to identify those weaknesses and figure out what to do to change those, and that will happen really quickly.”

Joey Logano concluded his 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season in seventh place in the final championship standings. He scored a win at Texas Motor Speedway and won two poles. In addition to that, he also claimed seven top-five finishes and 13 top-10 finishes and led 576 laps with an average finish of 15.3 in 36 races.
