Reigning NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier dropped a few words of advice for his teammates Corey Heim and Connor Zilisch, both of whom are championship contenders. It all happened during the latest episode of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s NASCAR podcast, the Dale Jr. Download.Allgaier has been through several ups and downs. It took the 39-year-old 14 full seasons to bag his first NASCAR Xfinity Series championship. The coolest of those moments, said Allgaier, are usually when the media interviews the driver. He advised Heim, who was also invited on the show along with his teammate Zilisch, to never turn down the reporters, as a time will come when they will no longer ask questions.“The coolest moment is when you do driver introductions," Justin Allgaier explained. "You walk out on the stage and there's four of you standing out there, right? And there's smoke and there's pyro and fans are cheering and you're just looking out amongst, however many thousands of fans are there and you're like, I get to do this as a job. When you really stand out on that stage and you go through all the media stuff and you said it earlier, you're going to answer the same questions 37 times.”“So what? Enjoy it because someday they're not going to ask you the questions,” he added.Justin Allgaier is currently in his 15th full season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He drives the No. 7 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, which Dale Jr. owns. A native of Spaulding, Illinois, Allgaier holds the record for most top-10s in the Xfinity Series history.Justin Allgaier explains how his 2025 championship bid is “different”This year, Justin Allgaier made the Championship race alongside his JR Motorsports teammates Connor Zilisch and Carson Kvapil. 32 races into the season, he ranks third in the championship standings with 14 top fives and 19 top-10s.Now, Allgaier has just one goal: defending his title. But this year, he has a different approach for the upcoming Championship race at Phoenix Raceway.“I’m just looking at this [championship race] A lot differently than i have in years past,” Allgaier said in a statement. “I don’t feel the pressure of the championship like i have in years past…being here as many times as I have and it’s not worked out, you get this sense of peace of like, ‘I’ve been here before and not been able to accomplish it.’ so, with a different mindset, we’ll see what happens.”All eyes are now on Phoenix. Fans can watch Allgaier in action only on CW (7:30 pm ET) this coming Saturday. Radio updates will be available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Channel 90.
