Parker Retzlaff has found a new home for 2026, two days after he announced his exit from Alpha Prime Racing. The 22-year-old driver is now signed to drive full-time for Viking Motorsports in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series (Xfinity Series).Retzlaff confirmed that he would not return to Alpha Prime Racing's No. 4 Chevrolet earlier this week. He completed the 2025 season after his best career finish of second place at Rockingham Speedway.On Friday, November 7, Viking Motorsports shared that Retzlaff will drive the team's one-car operation (No. 99 Chevrolet) in 2026. The team has also brought in veteran crew chief Danny Efland, who was part of Harrison Burton's team at AM Racing this season."Thankful for this opportunity [Viking Motorsports] has given me. Ready to get to work👊🏼 Stoked to work with Danny Elfand & team to win some races! #somethingtoprove," Parker Retzlaff wrote on X.The Wisconsin native thanked his previous team co-owners Tommy Joe Martins and Caesar Bacarella in a social media post this Tuesday. Alpha Prime co-owner Bacarella had earlier stated that he wasn't expecting Retzlaff to return and said that he hoped the driver would find bigger opportunities."The best opportunity I've ever had" - Parker Retzlaff on third team switch in four yearsParker Retzlaff raced in his rookie season with Jordan Anderson Racing in 2023 and finished in 16th place. Last season, he had two top-5 finishes and won his first two career poles at Richmond and Martinsville.Moving to Viking Motorsports will mark Retzlaff’s third team in four full-time campaigns. He drove for Jordan Anderson Racing till 2024, and then switched to Alpha Prime."This is the best opportunity I've ever had. I think that he has all the skills to lead the team into a really good direction," he added.Viking Motorsports, which launched in 2024 with the No. 38 Ford in partnership with RSS Racing, switched to Chevrolet this season. The team also renumbered the car to No. 99 and had the best result, a 5th-place finish, at Talladega Superspeedway.Matt DiBenedetto drove the No. 99 car at Viking this season before the team ran Connor Mosack in the final three races. DiBenedetto produced one top-5 and two other top-10 finishes this season with Pat Tryson, who will now oversee the team's shop operations in Mooresville.
