Chase Briscoe, who will compete for the NASCAR Cup Series title for the first time in the Championship 4 this Sunday, has laid out the little things that will decide who takes the title at Phoenix Raceway.Briscoe locked in to the final playoff round after winning the second Round of 8 race at Talladega Superspeedway after Denny Hamlin had won that round's opener. Last week, Hendrick Motorsports drivers William Byron and Kyle Larson joined them for a chance at the championship.During a recent appearance on the Sirius XM NASCAR radio, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver explained how he will likely match the other three teams in raw speed during Sunday's finale."It's just the little things, the pit stops, getting on and off the pit road, restarts and just the lane that you're in and whether it goes or not. I think, all four cars in the championship and gonna have really good speed. We're all probably gonna be pretty evenly matched it's just gonna come down to those little details," Chase Briscoe said."On the racetrack, its gonna be hard for us to pass each other just because we probably really will be really, really close in speed but it's all gonna be won or lost on pit road or on a restart or whatever. So, it's just the little variables .... that's where you just have to be as best prepared as you can and hope that you can execute at a very high level and do all those little things right," he added.Briscoe also shared that he is starstruck racing with teammate Denny Hamlin and other drivers and still counts himself as one of the fans.Briscoe has collected 15 top-5 and 19 top-10 finishes with 7 pole positions so far. After leaving Stewart-Haas Racing at the end of the last season, he replaced Martin Truex Jr. at Joe Gibbs Racing. How has Chase Briscoe's form been in his debut season for Joe Gibbs Racing? Chase Briscoe qualified for the Championship 4 for the first time since debuting in the Cup Series in 2021. He had made it to the Round 8 twice before, but had never had a one-in-four chance to win the Cup title. While Briscoe got his first Cup win at Phoenix, he has the lowest average finish among other playoff drivers at the short track. He also posted a DNF during the spring race there earlier this season. After qualifying in 30th place, Chase Briscoe was involved in an early-race crash that forced his retirement after the 98th lap. He also finished in 37th at Martinsville last weekend. But his new ride at Joe Gibbs Racing does give him excellent speed to compete for the title this Sunday. His crew chief, James Small, also talked about the changes the No. 19 team made that turned them into a stronger contender.
