The 27-year-old professional race car driver has been competing in the Cup Series since 2021. Since then, he has been with Team Penske and clinched the Daytona 500 victory in his freshman year as a full-time driver. Before his NASCAR stint, Cindric competed in the Bathurst 12 Hours in the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Also, he tested the DJR Team Penske Ford Falcon FG X in 2016.

Following that, Austin Cindric will make his Supercars debut at the bp Adelaide Grand Finals on November 27-30 this season. Cindric will drive the #5 Ford Mustang for Tickford Racing in the main event. Reflecting on the same, the Team Penske driver expressed his excitement and stated (via Supercars.com):

"I’ve been a fan of the Supercars Championship since I was a kid. I’ve always rated the drivers and teams in the category highly. So needless to say, my interest has been high for an opportunity to test myself against the best, all while still getting to soak in the atmosphere of what I think should be a great weekend of racing at the Adelaide Grand Final.”

“I can’t think of a better way to finish off a full year of racing than an adventure like this,” he added.

Repco, Armor All, and Ford will collaborate with the NASCAR Cup Series driver for his Repco Supercar Championship wildcard entry at the grand final. Also, the former Supercars Champion Jake Kostecki’s engineer, Rhys Lenegan, will work alongside the Team Penske driver on his debut.

“It’s big for the whole industry”: NASCAR star Austin Cindric got candid about the changes in the 2026 Cup Series schedule

In August 2025, the sanctioning body announced it would introduce two off weeks during the 2026 regular season. The first off week is scheduled after the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Meanwhile, the second off week will be given ahead of the Iowa Speedway race.

Reflecting on that, NASCAR Cup Series driver Austin Cindric told the press:

"Number one is two off weeks. That's, we need one in the middle of something. You think about it, we've been racing since Easter, which I love. I love that, but god, it is a grind for everybody involved. And you know, a lot of people that I work with, all our families, and you know, those things are, you know, very important to have a little bit of that time off. So, I think that's big for the whole industry to have that."

The Team Penske driver wrapped up the 2025 Cup Series season in 14th place with 2156 points to his account. Additionally, he logged one victory at the Spring Talladega Superspeedway, five top tens, and two top fives in 36 starts.
