Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch went back to where it all began - the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Competing head-to-head against his 10-year-old son, Brexton, the Nevada-native will continue the family’s long-standing racing tradition in front of a local crowd that had seen both Busch brothers rise from grassroots to national fame. The race will mark the second father-son battle between Kyle and Brexton Busch, following their first on-track meeting earlier in March. Days before the event, Busch posted images from their practice session at the Bullring, adding:“Two and a half decades ago that was a common occurrence, not so much anymore. Except for this weekend. My dad ushered in the next gen with Kurt & I. Now I get to do the same with Brex. Pushing him to the best he can be by battling at the Bullring.”For Kyle Busch, it is a full-circle moment. The Bullring has been the home to the Busch family for three generations, beginning with Tom Busch, a mechanic who built stock cars in Las Vegas during the 1980s.Tom's older son, Kurt Busch, began his illustrious racing journey on the same track, winning the 2004 Cup Series title and the 2017 Daytona 500. Kyle followed closely, making his early mark at the Bullring before turning his local dominance into a 232-win national career with two Cup titles.Brexton Busch (18) leads his father, Kyle Busch (51), in the Midgets race at The Bullring. He started racing at just four and a half years of age and has already run over 400 main events, winning more than 150 races. This year, he won the 2025 Golden Driller in the Tulsa Shootout in January and the Bandits division title in the fall. From winged karts to micro sprints, Brexton has shown the same determination that defined both his father and uncle during their early years in Las Vegas.Busch announced the “Battle of the Busches” in a social media post earlier this week. At the event on November 8, Kyle Busch will drive his familiar #51 Lucas Oil Outlaw Kart, while Brexton will helm the #18B SERVPRO legends car. The two lined up for practice sessions together, mirroring the same father-son dynamic that had once defined Kyle and his father, Tom.For Kyle, whose 2025 Cup Series campaign with Richard Childress Racing ended without a victory - his second consecutive winless season - the off-season dirt races provide both reflection and renewal.Kyle Busch and Brexton’s first “Busch Battle” at Millbridge SpeedwayBrexton Busch and Kyle Busch, before the 2024 Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. The 20-lap dirt race saw Kyle competing in the 600cc Winged Micro division, where he finished third, while Brexton, making his A-Class Outlaw Kart debut, came home sixth.Brexton shadowed his father for much of the event, even coming close to challenging him before a late caution sealed the running order. While joking afterward that he’d have “stayed high” if Brexton caught up, Kyle was quick to praise his son’s poise and competitiveness. That first battle set the tone for what has now become a Busch family ritual.
