The former team president joined Team Penske in 1999 and was fired earlier this year. Following the Indianapolis 500 cheating scandal, the team sacked Tim Cindric, along with IndyCar managing director Ron Ruzewski and IndyCar general manager Kyle Moyer. Since then, Cindric has been on a break, spending time with his family.

However, Austin Cindric's father is open to new opportunities. Reflecting on that, Tim Cindric told the media house:

“You know, I’ve just been catching up on life. I've had some interesting inquiries within and outside of motorsport, but I haven't committed anything yet to speak of. It’s just the way it is. There's certainly more to life than motorsport. I'm finding out that's all I've done all my life. But I'm open-minded to interesting inquiries within and outside of motorsport.”

Following his departure from Team Penske, Tim Cindric is taking the time to relax. He even chose to take some time off from travel and did not attend his son, Austin Cindric's, debut in the Supercars Series. Apart from that, Cindric senior has a few business interests that occupy some of his time.

The 27-year-old has been competing for Roger Penske's team since 2021 and claimed the Daytona 500 in his maiden full-time season. Since then, he has logged three wins, 12 top fives, 26 top tens, and one pole position in 144 starts for Team Penske. Ahead of his NASCAR Cup Series debut, Cindric competed in the Bathurst 12 Hours in 2015 and 2016.

Austin Cindric drove the #5 Ford Mustang for Tickford Racing at Adelaide and expressed his views on the same:

"I’ve been a fan of the Supercars Championship since I was a kid. I’ve always rated the drivers and teams in the category highly. So needless to say, my interest has been high for an opportunity to test myself against the best, all while still getting to soak in the atmosphere of what I think should be a great weekend of racing at the Adelaide Grand Final.”

“I can’t think of a better way to finish off a full year of racing than an adventure like this,” he added.

Austin Cindric finished his debut Supercar session in 23rd place, ahead of two-time Supercars race winner Jack Le Brocq and PremiAir Racing rookie Jayden Ojeda. Cindric's performance drew praise from Tickford stablemate and Supercar legends.
