Former K-1 Champion Yuki Yoza of Japan believes he’s now one of the best strikers in the world after beating a pound-for-pound great.
The 27-year-old outclassed ‘The Kicking Machine’ Superlek with a three-round striking masterclass at ONE 173 last month.
For Yoza, that monumental victory not only elevated him to superstardom but also validated his years of hard work.

“One mindset can make a big difference. I'm starting to understand that, and that's why I won this time. I'm more confident now. I think I'll get even stronger from here.”
Defeating someone of Superlek's caliber is truly a remarkable accomplishment for Yoza. He’s now 3-0 in the home of martial arts, a phenomenal streak that includes wins over Elbrus Osmanov and Petchtanong Petchfergus.
Yoza’s confidence is understandably at an all-time high, especially after the manner he defeated Superlek.
The Japanese star was able to neutralize the ONE flyweight kickboxing king’s offense using his signature calf kicks and blistering punch combinations.
That career-defining win also did wonders for Yoza’s mentality, as he approaches a possible world title opportunity with ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty.

Everything went according to plan for Yuki Yoza against the mighty Superlek.
The Japanese star entered the biggest fight of his life with indomitable confidence.
Not only did he win, but he also dominated arguably one of the finest strikers on the planet.
The Team Vasileus member said in the same vlog post:
"At first, we were both very wary of the power. It all started with that kind of tactic. The power of his kicks was no problem. Fighters like Petchtanong and Elbrus Osmanov, who mainly fight in the bantamweight class, naturally have more power."
