Tony Ferguson might have lost his last eight UFC fights but he still has a hunger and desire to face an old rival.
Ferguson remains extremely popular in the combat sports scene and recently won his first boxing fight by defeating Salt Papi and becoming the interim MFB middleweight champion in Misfits boxing.
However, ‘El Cucuy’ is still willing to fight it out in the octagon. He was speaking to Helen Yee and was asked about Conor McGregor possibly returning to the White House event.
Ferguson was open to fighting McGregor but he also brought in long-time rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“I am going to be real. There are only two people that I want to go and fight regardless of where it’s going to be at. The interesting fights are either going to be Conor or Khabiber. Regardless of what happens, it’s going to sell tickets…you put me up against Khabiber at the White House and I guarantee you are going to have fireworks. Khabib-Tony, round 6, make it happen.”

Khabib vs. Ferguson was scheduled several times in the UFC but for one reason or another the clash got canceled.
Tony Ferguson jokes about which weight class he will fight Khabib Nurmagomedov
While a fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov would have been at lightweight during the prime of their careers, Tony Ferguson still took a shot at ‘The Eagle’ over his weight.
Khabib retired from MMA in 2020 and has transitioned into a great coach. ‘The Eagle’ has gained some weight after his retirement since he doesn’t have to cut pounds before fights, and Ferguson claimed that their potential bout would be at around 205 pounds, which is the light heavyweight division.
“We might have to make it at 205, though, cause Khabib is kinda heavy, that guy can put on some weight.”
It’s unlikely the pair will ever fight given Khabib’s retirement. Ferguson, for his part, is returning to boxing in December as he defends his MFB title against Warren Spencer.
