A familiar storm rolled back into social media as Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov reignited their rivalry with a fresh burst of accusations and rebuttals.

McGregor recently targeted Nurmagomedov’s involvement in a digital project tied to Dagestani culture. He alleged that the retired fighter used his father’s legacy to sell digital papakhas.

He insists that the Dagestani wiped the promotional material online once the money came in. The Irishman framed it as a deliberate attempt to mislead buyers.

Nurmagomedov fired back and insisted the claims were false. He took to X and wrote:

"You absolute liar. You will always try to darken my name, after you got destroyed that night, but you will never achieve that! Yes, good guys don’t do that. They don’t create exclusive digital gifts with real-time value that you can share with your friends and family."

He added:

"Gifts in the shape of Papakha - a hat that symbolizes traditions and culture of Dagestan people. Traditions and culture that are slowly walking over this world, whether you like it or not! Gifts that you can find exclusively on Telegram, the greatest messaging platform in the world."

The exchange revived scrutiny around Nurmagomedov’s past connections to crypto and NFT ventures. Some fans have previously questioned the reliability of projects associated with him.

Most recently, Nurmagomedov claimed during a live event that fighting McGregor felt like a vacation for him. Meanwhile, McGregor's teammate Dillon Danis was attacked by Nurmagomedov's team in Madison Square Garden during UFC 322.

As for McGregor, the Irishman recently described a spiritual reset after a long stretch of controversy and suspension. He detailed a powerful experience with ibogaine therapy in Mexico that forced him to confront the impact of his actions on his family.

He's gearing up for a potential return once his 18-month anti-doping ban ends in March 2026. McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in 2021 and is pushing to headline the historic White House card in June 2026.
