Reigning ONE strawweight MMA world champion ‘The Passion’ Joshua Pacio of the Philippines is on the cusp of history. This weekend, the Lions Nation MMA representative will step into the Circle for the opportunity of a lifetime.

If he can beat Japanese star and ONE flyweight MMA world champion ‘Little Piranha’ Yuya Wakamatsu for his gold, Pacio will become the first Filipino ever to hold two ONE world titles simultaneously as double champ.

The two lock horns at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, which will go down live on Sunday, November 16, from the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Speaking to the South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Pacio highlighted the magnitude of this fight, and how he’s feeling ahead of ONE 173.

‘The Passion’ said:

“Yeah, but like what I've said in my past interviews, my main goal is to defend the strawweight [belt], but if ONE Championship gives me the opportunity to fight for the flyweight world championship, I would grab it. So, it's not really the main goal, but if they give me the opportunity, I would grab it. So, here it is. We'll grab it.”
