Hiroyuki Tetsuka was one of the big winners at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on Nov. 16 in Japan. He defeated Shinya Aoki by TKO in their all-Japanese lightweight MMA clash at the event that took place at Tokyo's Ariake Arena.

'Japanese Beast' did it early in the second round when he landed a huge body shot on 'Tobikan Judan' that instantly dropped the latter. From there Tetsuka moved in for the finish, unleashing a flurry of punches and knee strikes to the head that Aoki had no answer to, forcing the referee to call a stop to the match.

ONE Championship captured the impressive stoppage win of the Yamada Dojo-TGFC standout and shared it on Instagram for fight fans to relive.

The win was sort of a payback for Tetsuka, who had an intense staredown with Aoki in the ceremonial face-off in the lead-up. As he got in the face of Aoki and pushed him back, the Japanese legend answered with a nifty trip throw that dropped Tetsuka on his face.

Entering the marquee Japanese event, the veteran fighter was reeling from back-to-back losses. In September last year, he fell to Australian-Tongan fighter Isi Fitikefu by decision then was stopped by TKO in the opening round in his last fight in February by Zhang Lipeng of China.

But prior to the rough patch he hit, Tetsuka was rolling, winning six of his first seven matches since coming on board ONE Championship in 2019 after a successful run at Pancrase.

Now back on the winning track, he is now looking to pile up the wins again and position himself for a shot at either or both the ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world titles in possession of Christian Lee.
