Shevchenko is coming off an impressive win over Zhang Weili at UFC 322. ‘Bullet’ retained her UFC women’s flyweight title in impressive fashion and was on Ariel Helwani’s most recent show.

The 37-year-old spoke on several topics, and one burning question was that of Rousey’s return. The former UFC star’s training videos have piqued the interest of many MMA fans, and ‘Bullet’ didn’t think it would be a bad idea for ‘Rowdy’ to come back.

“Why not? She is still young. If she feels she can do that it definitely will be good for the sport.”

Shevchenko was asked if Rousey would be a “dream fight” for her, but the current champion turned that down.

“I don’t think so at this moment…years ago it would make more sense. This point of my life, her life I don’t think this [makes] many sense.”

Shevchenko highlighted that Rousey could be returning after almost eight years, and she would not be at the same level as before. ‘Bullet’ shared what she would do if she were in Rousey’s position:

“If it would be me, I would do several fights at lower level. Just to get back into shape, in the same competition mood, to feel the pressure in fighting and everything. It works to get back on to highest level.”

Shevchenko finished off by saying that she didn’t want Rousey to lose, as it just wouldn’t feel right.

Valentina Shevchenko is unsure of another super fight

Valentina Shevchenko might be one of the greatest female MMA stars of all time. She has dominated the flyweight division, but a couple of losses still rankle.

‘Bullet’ faced another female MMA legend, Amanda Nunes, in the UFC and lost both fights against the Brazilian.

Nunes is expected to make a comeback soon, but Shevchenko isn’t 100% certain of a trilogy fight yet. She spoke with Mike Bohn a few weeks back and was waiting for things to play out.

“For a long time, it was the only reason why I would return to the 135, it was just one name. Finish business with what I had with Amanda. Once she was retired, I lost interest in that, and now, let’s see. The rumors that she’s unretired but let’s see if it’s a reality.”
