There's no love lost between Jones and Cormier. The two shared one of the fiercest rivalries in MMA history and have faced each other in the octagon twice. Given the bad blood between them, it's no surprise that they continue taking shots at each other nearly a decade after their last cage encounter.

Over the past few days, Jones has been sharing pictures and videos from his trip to Chechnya. The UFC legend also linked up with Khamzat Chimaev and spent some time with the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.

In one video that was seemingly shared via Instagram (reposted by @ChampRDS on X), Jones could be seen enjoying some local cuisine in Chechnya. Questioning why Jones was in another part of the world during the Thanksgiving holiday, Cormier took to the post's comments section and wrote:

"Why is Jon Jones not with his family on Thanksgiving holiday?"

Not one to hold back, Jones recently reacted to Cormier's comments. In an X post, 'Bones' referenced his victories over 'DC' and wrote:

"Imagine a man getting his a** kicked... and years later he’s still pondering how I spend my holidays. Brother, that’s not concern, that’s a long-term rental. Utilities included."

Jon Jones reacts to being taken down by Khamzat Chimaev during Chechnya trip

Khamzat Chimaev recently got the better of Jon Jones during a seemingly impromptu grappling match on the streets of Grozny, Chechnya. Much to everyone's surprise, Chimaev managed to secure a takedown, which led to Jones comically running away from the UFC middleweight king.

In an X post, Jones confirmed that he was indeed taken down by Chimaev and admitted that the Chechen-born fighter was in great shape:

“Yeah, that takedown was legit, young man is in tremendous shape. And there was only so much I could do on that concrete. What a great host, I’ll never forget my time in Chechnya.”
