Amid a whirlwind of speculations that a Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira BMF title clash is scheduled for January, 'Do Bronx' has now stepped forward to set the record straight.

Earlier in November, fans were thrown into a frenzy as UFC Brazil's official X account briefly posted and removed a graphic for a BMF title clash between 'Blessed' and Oliveira for UFC 324 in January.

While Oliveira is optimistic that the fight will happen, he appears certain it won't be in January. In a recent story update on Instagram, the former lightweight champion stated that they were still waiting on the contracts, while sharing a realistic timeline for the fight:

"There are a lot of people calling me, tagging me. So far, we don't know anything. And it certainly won't be in January, just to make it clear. But this fight will happen. I want it, he wants it, and you also want it. We're just waiting for the contract, but I believe it should be around March or April, we're just waiting. But not for January. I'm on vacation, there's nothing."

After his UFC Rio win over Mateusz Gamrot, 'Do Bronx' called out Holloway for a BMF title clash, a challenge 'Blessed' wasted no time in accepting. The duo first squared off in the octagon at UFC Fight Night 74 in 2015, with Holloway securing a TKO win after Oliveira suffered an esophagus injury.

Projected betting for Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira 2

With rumblings of Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira 2 in the air, the bookmakers at BetOnline have opened Holloway as a -160 favorite for the fight, with 'Do Bronx' as a +140 underdog.

This means that if the fight comes to fruition, a successful $100 bet on the American will yield a return of $162.50, while the same wager on Oliveira will result in a payout of $240 if he gets his hand raised.

Holloway is 4-1 in his last five, most recently earning a unanimous decision win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 318. 'Do Bronx' is 3-2 in his last five and was last seen scoring a second-round submission win over Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Rio.
