Top strawweight Muay Thai contender Aliff Sor Dechapan knew he would be up against a tough and very dangerous opponent in Ramadan ‘The Scorpion’ Ondash, which is why upgrading his defense became the central focus of his training camp.
Aliff improved his head movement, as well as his ability to take advantage of his height and reach, which proved effective when the two met at ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu last weekend at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Malaysian-Thai fighter believes it was his intense preparation that led him to victory. He told ONE Championship:

“There wasn’t anything surprising with Ramadan, he came as expected. But for me, I trained my kicks more, in order to counter attack him.”
Despite his victory, however, Aliff says Ondash is the real deal. And he believes the young Lebanese star can still make it back up to contention with a few more wins under his belt.
Aliff added:
“I think he’s one of the most dangerous fighters out there. He’s still young, I think he can still come back up, he can still come back strong.”
