Arman Tsarukyan recently reflected on headbutting Dan Hooker during their UFC Qatar pre-fight faceoff and admitted that it was a bad move on his part.

For context, Tsarukyan and Hooker threw down in a lightweight contest at UFC Qatar last weekend. After breezing through the opening round, Tsarukyan caught Hooker in an arm-triangle choke and secured a second-round submission win. A day before their fight, the two shared an intense staredown at the ceremonial weigh-ins, during which Tsarukyan impulsively headbutted Hooker in the face.

While 'Ahalkalakets' was initially unapologetic about his actions, it appears he sees the folly of his ways now. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Tsarukyan admitted that headbutting Hooker in the face was risky and lauded 'The Hangman' for not calling off the fight:

"If you ask me now, that was my fault. That was a big mistake. You shouldn’t do that... it was automatic. I couldn’t control myself for those 5 to 10 seconds, that's why it's a little bit dangerous... I was surprised how Dan Hooker is a man. He could have just said he got hurt, taken his money, and gotten ready for the next one. He has b*lls, and I really appreciate it. He’s not a p*ssy. He's the real deal."

Sean O'Malley discusses Ilia Topuria potentially fighting Arman Tsarukyan

Sean O'Malley recently reacted to Arman Tsarukyan defeating Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar. He also speculated that the promotion may not be inclined to book Ilia Topuria against Tsarukyan for a lightweight title fight due to 'Ahalkalakets' standing a real chance against the Spanish-Georgian fighter.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel (via @RedCorner_MMA on X), O'Malley said:

"I do not think the UFC will make Arman vs. Ilia because I think they love Ilia as a champion; he’s a great champion. I don’t think they really want Arman to become champion. He has a fu***** legitimate chance of beating Ilia. I can’t believe I said it… If anyone has a chance at beating Ilia at 155, it’s Arman the turkey man Tsarukyan.”
