The 26-year-old faces Liu Mengyang of China in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 137 on Dec. 19, in the promotion’s final event of 2025.

Tawanchai has been on the sidelines since his shocking defeat to former interim ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Masaaki Noiri at ONE 172 in March. The PK Saenchai Muaythaigym product has been nursing some injuries and also started a family during his time away from the ring.

Now healed and more determined than ever, Tawanchai promises to display his best condition against ‘Spirit Dragon’.

Tawanchai shared during the ONE Media Day Thailand press conference:

"My preparation has been very good, totaling almost three months. I am absolutely ready to fight at full capacity. After withdrawing from the previous match, I spent almost a month recovering. Now, I am completely healed and 100 percent ready for battle."

Meanwhile, Liu presents a dangerous challenge for Tawanchai, having defeated Noiri by unanimous decision earlier this year.

The Chinese star is riding high after beating Shadow Singha Mawynn in his last outing and will look to earn a title shot at Tawanchai’s expense.

Tawanchai vows explosive finish in return to form

Tawanchai says he owes his devoted fans for sticking with him through his struggles.

For the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion, taking out 'Spirit Dragon' Liu Mengyang in the most decisive way possible will be his atonement.

"I will be showing 'Tawanchai' in 100 percent kickboxing form. No need to over-adjust; I'll just go in with the skills I have. The match has a good chance of ending early [and not going the distance], but it depends on which side it happens to," he said in the same interview.
