Superbon told ONE Championship:“If we don’t have positivity, we will lose confidence. If we let what other people say affect our thoughts, this and that, it won’t be good. I want him to feel like we’ve made it this far, and it’s not easy. So let’s do it. If you feel unsure, train harder until you feel confident and better.”Fortunately for Superbon, he came out on the victorious end in the ONE 173 main event against ONE interim featherweight kickboxing titleholder Masaaki Noiri. Superbon took home a five-round unanimous decision to cement his spot at the top of the division in impressive fashion.Superbon eyes Muay Thai gold nextSuperbon isn’t content with just holding the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title. The 35-year-old declared that he’s still after the Muay Thai gold, currently held by Thai countryman Tawanchai PK Saenchai.Superbon told Mitch ‘The Dragon’ Chilson in his post-fight interview:“I'm 35, but I hope to be here longer. Five years, 10 years, and of course, I’m looking into Muay Thai always, I want to be that champion, the Muay Thai belt, and I got to come back. I got to fight everyone in kickboxing, never mind who[ever] is gonna stand here, I'm gonna fight him. If I beat everyone here, I'm gonna go back to Muay Thai.”ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri took place live at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan on Nov. 16.
