ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion Phetjeeja shifts lane to Muay Thai in her scheduled fight this week. She is using it as part of her preparation for her bid for her division's Muay Thai world title currently in the possession of Brazilian Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
'The Queen' battles Polish star Martyna Dominczak in an atomweight Muay Thai match at ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Dec. 5 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. It will be her first match in the 'art of eight limbs' since last competing in it in October 2023.
In an interview with combat sports journalist Nick Atkin, Phetjeeja shared her thoughts on her return to Muay Thai, including how she is expecting a tough match against Dominczak.

"Yes. I think it's better for me to face Martyna first. At first, the plan was to fight someone else as a warm-up fight before going against Allycia. But then it’s only Martyna who stepped forward, and it’s going to be a hard fight for me. So it's better to fight someone else first."
Check out what Phetjeeja had to say below:
Phetjeeja actually started her ONE Championship journey in Muay Thai, winning her first four matches all by way of TKO. Her last was over Australian Celest Hansen in October 2023, which she won in the third round (doctor stoppage/cut).
She then focused on kickboxing in her next three matches, winning the atomweight kickboxing world title along the way.
Looking to make it a rude welcome back to Muay Thai for her is Dominczak, winner of back-to-back matches, the most recent over Mexican Cynthia Flores by decision in July.
ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu is available live in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Martyna Dominczak vows to give Phetjeeja a rough time at ONE Fight Night 38
As much as Phetjeeja is expecting a rough time against Martyna Dominczak, the latter vows to deliver on it when they collide at ONE Fight Night 38.
The 23-year-old Legion Glogow affiliate shared this in an interview with ONE Championship ahead of her clash against the Thai striker, highlighting that she has studied her opponent and is looking to exploit her weaknesses.
Dominczak said:
"I go forward in my fights, but also, I can [play counterstriker as well] as I showed with Yu Yau Pui. My style is also not just the typical Thai style, not just typical kickboxing, but a mix of everything."
She added:
"So I think she will have a problem with me also. We saw a few weaknesses in her style, and I want to use them and show that I can beat her.
Like Pheetjeeja, Dominczak is out to get win at ONE Fight Night 38 to put herself in a position to vie for the atomweight Muay Thai world title against reigning queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
