Shadow Singha Mawynn and Shinji Suzuki have received new opponents for their hotly anticipated return at ONE Fight Night 38 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, December 5.

The Thai slugger was originally set to lock horns in a rematch against 'The Eagle' Mohamed Younes Rabah. Unfortunately, the Algerian withdrew from the tie due to illness.

Meanwhile, Suzuki was scheduled to go toe-to-toe with British legend and multi-time world champion Liam Harrison. But 'Hitman' sustained an injury during fight camp that ruled him out.

As a result, Shadow will now tango against ISKA kickboxing world champion Enzo Kartoum in a featherweight Muay Thai clash, and Suzuki meets Russian slugger Dmitrii Kovtun in a bantamweight Muay Thai duel at ONE Fight Night 38.

ONE Championship broke the news on its official site on Tuesday, December 2.

Shadow, the No.3-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender, seeks to extend his active unbeaten Muay Thai streak to eight matches, a run that began after he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Mamuka Usubyan in his promotional debut at ONE Friday Fights 52 in February 2024.

Since then, the former Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai world champion has racked up six wins from seven 'Art of Eight Limbs' battles inside the Circle, which includes knockouts of Erik Hehir, Hassan Vahdanirad, and Bampara Kouyate.

During his first fight with Rabah this past July, the 25-year-old Thai appeared to be on his way to another victory, but an accidental eye poke ended the proceedings and resulted in a no contest.

Kartoum, however, plans to ruin the Thai's momentum and secure his spot in the featherweight Muay Thai top-five with a victory at ONE Fight Night 38.

The kickboxing world champion, who trains alongside ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nabil Anane, brings an eight-fight win streak to his promotional debut.

The French-Algerian dynamo has been a tough puzzle to solve for many, and if he puts his knockout power, high fight-IQ, and speedy footwork to good use against Shadow, fight fans could be in for a huge upset in the Mecca of Muay Thai this week.

Suzuki, on the other hand, hopes to regain momentum against Kovtun at ONE Fight Night 38. The 2022 Road to ONE: Japan tournament winner has gone 1-2 on the global stage, but a big win for the 40-year-old could help him end his year on a sweet note.

Kovtun won't be an easy fighter to overcome, though. 'The Silent Assassin' has already picked up three impressive triumphs inside the Circle, and his mix of boxing combinations and forward pressure could prove to be the Japanese veteran's kryptonite.
