UFC 322’s brawl between Islam Makhachev and Dillon Danis’ teams has caught the attention of current New York City mayor Eric Adams.

The brawl took place in the seating section of Madison Square Garden before the start of the main card a couple of weeks back.

Makhachev was fighting for the UFC welterweight crown, and his team fought against Danis and others.

Magomed Zanukov, better known as ‘Chanco’ and ‘Wild Chanco,’ was captured beating Danis. While no action has been taken from the UFC regarding this incident, Adams was not going to be lenient.

The outgoing NYC mayor posted a message on X saying that the police had already begun their investigation and stern action would be taken against the parties involved:

“These assaults at Madison Square Garden are completely unacceptable. The NYPD is already conducting a full investigation, and everyone responsible will be held accountable.”

Makhachev’s coach, Javier Mendez, opened up about the incident and claimed that it Danis was the one who started it all. The coach claimed that Danis showed NSFW content related to Makhachev.

Dana White refuses to press charges against Dillon Danis

UFC president Dana White was asked about the brawl after UFC 322. White was addressing the media during the post-fight press conference and claimed that Dillons Danis had a ticket, and he allowed the MMA star to remain close to Islam Makhachev’s team.

However, White took part of the blame for the incident since he allowed things to escalate. He confirmed that Danis would be banned from future UFC events, but White refused to press charges against the American:

“They called me downstairs and they said ‘We got him, do you want to press charges and have him arrested?’ And I said ‘No, I don’t want to press charges.’ This is the fight business man, you know how I feel about this sh**. I could have prevented this tonight and I messed up.”
