Khabib Nurmagomedov is the latest to wade into the debate on what the biggest fight could be right now.

Alex Pereira vs. Jon Jones is one that has caught the attention of many. Pereira is the current UFC light heavyweight champion, while Jones is a former two-division champion.

The pair have mutual respect, too, and have called each other out for a clash at the White House. Joe Rogan was one of the first to claim that a potential fight between them is the biggest out there, but Nurmagomedov disagrees.

‘The Eagle’ was on the Weighing In podcast and was asked about this fight. Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev is another fight that many want to see, and the Dagestani legend leaned to the latter bout being bigger than Jones vs. Pereira:

Makhachev is Nurmagomedov's close friend and also his coach. Topuria is the current UFC lightweight champion, and there have been talks of a fight between the pair, with Dana White also hinting at the same.

Topuria is already a two-division champion as he held the featherweight title before moving up. Further, he is ranked No.1 in the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings, with Makhachev being placed just below the lightweight champion.

Islam Makhachev gearing up for huge UFC 322 fight

While Ilia Topuria vs. Islam Makhachev isn’t set in stone, there is a big fight on the horizon for one of the stars.

Makhachev takes on Jack Della Maddalena as the Russian chases two-division glory. The former UFC lightweight champion is moving up a weight class.

This fight is Della Maddalena’s first UFC title defense and second title fight, while Makhachev has the edge in this stat with five title fights with the promotion.

Makhachev becoming a two-division champion would add a lot of weight to his standing among the greatest of all time in MMA. UFC legend Michael Bisping believes a win on Saturday would put the Russian in the conversation.
