Nick Diaz’s story keeps getting more twisted as his circle tries to help him out of a difficult phase. His recovery coach, Jose Garcia, recently provided a progress update mixed with fresh complications.

Garcia said that Diaz has been focusing on stabilizing his health after months inside a rehabilitation program in Mexico earlier this year. He claims that Diaz will enter a CTE and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) program next to address long-term damage from his career.

Garcia provided the updates on Instagram and captioned the post:

"Thank you for all of your concerns for my brother Nick. Nick is still in the program and doing well. Of [course] he wants to go home early and not finish the program [which] was not advised by the program director and his advocates. His brain has [partially] recovered from the substance use but still has a lot of scar tissue to be healed according to the [current] MRI results. Never mind Nick’s ex-girlfriend trying to pull Nick out of rehab for her [benefit] because currently she [has] to evacuate Nick’s house where she is squatting. KAYLA is not the brightest crayon in the box."

He added:

"The next step for Diaz is to go to a CTE TBI program to help him heal from the brain scarring from all the years of fighting. Nick’s ex is trying to make it look like Nick is being abused and mistreated [which] is false. She has used AI technology to create illusions of Nick being kidnapped and abused. Y’all look at the current picture sent to me by his advocates, who asked me to post for Diaz and his advocates."

He also claimed that Diaz's property landed in foreclosure after a promised tax payment from head coach Cesar Gracie was never made. Funds were later deposited into an account for Diaz and a close associate to manage the situation. However, that money reportedly never reached the tax authorities.

Nick Diaz coach fires back at the UFC star's alleged opportunists' circle

Nick Diaz’s recovery coach also pushed back at what he called opportunistic members who surface only when there is money or attention around the former UFC star.

He said his focus is on Diaz’s long-term stability rather than the noise surrounding the former star. Joe Garcia took to Instagram and wrote:

"I was asked to do a welfare post the other day by [Nick Diaz's] family member advocate. I’m not seeking to become famous or get paid like some of these people around Diaz. Some of these people are around only when the money is coming in, and they can get a chance to get clout for themselves. I’m actually doing something that needs to be addressed so Nick will have a better chance in recovery and a better life."

Diaz's last outing against Robbie Lawler in 2021 ended with a third-round stoppage after the Stockton native signaled he could not continue.
