Jiri Prochazka ready to switch weight class if one fight doesn’t happen

One of the major talking points from UFC 320 was Jiri Prochazka’s reaction to Alex Pereira reclaiming his UFC light heavyweight title from Magomed Ankalaev.

‘BJP’ became emotional as he applauded Pereira’s first round win. While Prochazka has lost twice to Pereira, he seems open to a third fight with the Brazilian.

However, Pereira has been linked with a move up to heavyweight. ‘Poatan’ also wants to fight Jon Jones at the White House, and Prochazka is keeping his options open should the trilogy not take place.

The Czech fighter was speaking to Patrick McCorry and revealed that a move down to middleweight isn’t out of the question:

“Yeah, let’s see. For me, cutting to 84 kilograms is not a problem. I think middleweight would really be something. I believe I can make it with my body because I know my body. But it depends. I really want to first read the title, not to be cheeky.”

Prochazka beat Khalil Rountree Jr at UFC 320 in his last outing. He won the fight via KO and was awarded two bonuses for that performance.
