Strawweight Muay Thai contender Aliff Sor Dechapan of Malaysia and Thailand said that the picturesque flying knee he landed against Ramadan Ondash was a product of countless repetitions.

The 21-year-old striker earned himself a shot at reigning ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai at ONE Fight Night 38 by defeating ‘The Scorpion’ via unanimous decision on Dec. 5 at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium.

It was a close contest for the majority of the bout, as both elite strikers traded violent attacks.

But Aliff secured the win on the judges' scorecards when he landed a perfectly timed left knee that caught Ondash flush on the chin.

While the Lebanese upstart stood up for an eight-count, that knockdown sealed the outcome for Aliff.

In his post-event interview with Nick Atkin of the Bangkok Post, Aliff credited his old man for telling him to use that technique against the uber-aggressive Ondash.

“My dad called me everyday that my flying knee is very crucial and I needed to do that. So, yeah, I just kept using that cause my dad kept reminding me.”

The Sor Dechapan Gym product also sent a message to Prajanchai, adding:

“I think it’s about time. I hope you are prepared well, and you are ready for me.”

Aliff ready for his crowning moment

Aliff Sor Dechapan will be heading into the biggest test of his career with full confidence.

While beating a generational talent like Prajanchai PK Saenchai will be easier said than done, the 21-year-old is up for the task.

“Yes, I am confident that my next fight will be a title shot. You know, they also announced it in the ring, so I’m very confident, and if I still don’t get the title shot, I don’t know what to do then. Prajanchai, I hope you’re ready for me. I am coming for your belt,” he told Nick Atkin.
