Martyna Dominczak says she owns advantage over Phetjeeja in the clinch: "I really love Muay Thai"

Martyna Dominczak has identified where she believes she can trouble 'The Queen' Phetjeeja when they go to war in Bangkok this week, and it's in the close-quarters battles that define traditional Muay Thai.

The 23-year-old Polish bruiser faces the fellow WMC Muay Thai world champion in an atomweight Muay Thai tiff at ONE Fight Night 38 on Friday, Dec. 5, inside Bangkok's legendary Lumpinee Stadium.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Dominczak explained why she's confident her clinch work will create problems for the reigning ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion.

"I really love Muay Thai. I'm active in Muay Thai. So I will use my elbows and knees for sure. Also, I want to check [how she is] in the clinch, how she will be working there. And we will see, but I think it will be my [advantage]," Martyna Dominczak shared.

The Legion Glogow representative has compiled a 3-1 record in ONE Championship, with three victories showcasing exactly the versatile striking she described.

Meanwhile, Phetjeeja enters as the reigning atomweight kickboxing world champion with elite-level striking that's troubled everyone she's faced.

But Dominczak's plan to dominate exchanges suggests she believes the Thai champion hasn't faced someone with her specific skillset in those grinding close-range exchanges.

Martyna Dominczak says she's grown tremendously as a fighter ahead of her fifth fight in ONE Championship

Ahead of fight night, Martyna Dominczak told the promotion in an interview that she has evolved into a completely different animal since her debut inside the Circle in February 2024.

The Glogow native, who's claimed the win in three of her four appearances, revealed that she's gotten more comfortable fighting against world-class warriors and in the promotion's four-ounce gloves.

"I think I'm a totally different fighter right now [from my first fight last year] because this will be my fifth fight in ONE Championship. Now I know all the rules. Now I know how to punch with the small gloves, how to protect [myself] with them," the 23-year-old told the organization.

ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu will be the organization's final American primetime showcase of an explosive 2025. The entire fight card will be available to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers for free.
