It seems that when you are one of the greatest of all time, you get to be right even when you're wrong, and Khabib Nurmagomedov and Frankie Edgar's hilarious debate is a prime example.

Edgar has been training alongside Team Khabib in New Jersey as Islam Makhachev prepares for his UFC 322 title fight.

In footage doing the rounds on social media, 'The Eagle' and Edgar can be seen getting into a funny debate about angles, and despite Nurmagomedov clearly being wrong, his gym ends up supporting him, leaving 'The Answer' in splits.

For context, during training, Nurmagomedov instructed his students to hold a chair position against the wall, insisting it was 45 degrees. Edgar was quick to correct him, noting that it was, in fact, a full 90 degrees.

'The Eagle', however, refused to back down and went on a lengthy monologue trying to prove his point, even calling on Usman Nurmagomedov and coach Javier Mendez for backup.

Furthermore, to validate his opinion, the lightweight legend hilariously boasted about his MMA achievements, saying:

"Frankie Edgar, have some respect. Not only you former lightweight champion, me too. Have some respect, this is 45 degrees... I'm [the] youngest Hall of Famer in UFC history. Come on, not like everybody else."

Delivering the final blow to the debate, 'The Eagle' turned to his students, asking whether the angle was 45 or 90 degrees. They unanimously sided with their mentor, saying 45, even though it was much closer to a full 90. This prompted Edgar to burst out in laughter, saying:

"I love it, I love it."

When Frankie Edgar previewed a fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov's legendary protege

Frankie Edgar was the UFC lightweight champion during his heyday, beating the legendary B.J. Penn to claim the belt. However, when he was quizzed on how he would've matched up against Khabib Nurmagomedov's protege, Islam Makhachev, 'The Answer' stayed humble in his response.

During an interview with Cage Side Press in 2024, Edgar said:

"Islam is quite a bit bigger than I, especially when I was at 155 [pounds]. You know, just like I fought these big guys. I'd have to keep my feet moving. Try to land a lot of punches, and hopefully get a takedown, but on Islam, that might be tough... I believe in myself. Islam is a stud, so he is the guy now. That's all that matters."

Makhachev is one of the greatest lightweights of all time and holds the record for the most title defenses at 155 pounds with four.
