Former longtime ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama of Thailand is close friends with ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
But in just a few days, the 39-year-old veteran will lock horns with the Thai megastar for the vacant ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title.
The two lock horns at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, which will go down live on Sunday, November 16, from the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Nong-O shared that he had met Rodtang a few times in a friendly football game. And that they spoke about their upcoming matchup briefly.

The legendary Hama Muay Thai fighter said:
“Just a little bit. We met each other on the football field, and we did talk about it. Normally, we don’t really talk about Muay Thai. We don’t talk about our careers on the field. So we were just joking about other things.”
Nong-O added:
“He’s a really good football player. He’s very skilled and he’s very fast. Normally, he doesn’t play aggressive at all.”
