It appears Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua could throw down in the squared circle next month. Paul notably called out the former heavyweight world champion earlier this year, with the Englishman seemingly eager to accept the former Disney star's challenge.

Paul was originally set to face Gervonta Davis in an exhibition fight at the Kaseya Center in Miami this weekend. However, promoters called the fight off after Davis was hit with a new civil lawsuit by his former partner for alleged battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

In the aftermath, Paul's team looked for suitable opponents to replace Davis, with Francis Ngannou notably turning them down while slamming the idea of him fighting the YouTuber-turned-boxer. While Ngannou isn't interested in facing Paul, it appears Joshua is willing to accept the challenge.

Per reports, Joshua and Paul's teams are in discussion to book them for a heavyweight showdown in December. It would mark Joshua's first outing in over 15 months and would allow him to redeem his IBF heavyweight title loss against Daniel Dubois last September. Dubois defeated Joshua via fifth-round KO.

Meanwhile, Paul is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Hugo Caesar Chavez Jr. in June. He expressed his desire to face Joshua in July, after 'AJ' vowed to "kill" the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

When Jake Paul's manager got honest about a potential Anthony Joshua fight

Jake Paul's manager and Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian shared his thoughts on a potential Anthony Joshua fight in August. Bidarian hyped the showdown as one of "biblical" proportions and revealed that they were in active discussions about making it happen with Matchroom Boxing.

In an interview with Sky Sports News, Bidarian outlined his views on Paul fighting Joshua and said:

"I think the fight can absolutely happen. I’m looking at it as Jake versus Joshua, which is quite biblical, and it’s quite impactful in many ways... I think size-wise, we can get comfortable with it, and I think experience-wise, Jake is learning very fast and growing, and Joshua is a little long in the tooth. So it could be a very interesting matchup, and we’re actively discussing it with Matchroom."

He continued:

"I think we’re looking at it happening at the start of 2026. It’s public that AJ was taking a little time away; I think he had a little surgery. So once he’s ready, and once Jake is ready, we’re going to squarely focus on that. Wembley’s definitely a possibility. Jake said he’d like to do it there. He likes the idea of going in and hearing 90,000 people booing him." [H/t: Sky Sports News]
