Polish striking sensation Martyna Dominczak believes Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom’s kickboxing detour puts her at a disadvantage at ONE Fight Night 38 on Prime Video.

This Friday, Dec. 5, ‘The Queen’ returns to her roots in a three-round atomweight Muay Thai tiff with Dominczak inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

At just 23 years old, Phetjeeja already has an astonishing 209 career wins to her name. The Thai champion started competing in Muay Thai at such a young age and owns a pristine 7-0 in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

However, Phetjeeja’s last three bouts have been contested under kickboxing rules.

As far as Dominczak is concerned, it won’t be easy for the ONE women’s atomweight kickboxing queen to simply return to Muay Thai after being gone for a while.

“Of course, she has much more fights in pro Muay Thai than me because she's really, really experienced. She started very young. But now in the past years, she had three or four fights in kickboxing,” she told ONE Championship.

“So I think for two or three years she didn't fight in Muay Thai in ONE Championship. So maybe it will be harder for her. But we'll see. I want to use it for sure.”

Martyna Dominczak says beating Phetjeeja warrants a title shot

Beating Phetjeeja will undoubtedly be the biggest feather in Martyna Dominczak's cap.

However, the Polish star insists 'The Queen' is simply a stepping stone to her true goal, ONE women's atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.

The Legion Glogow affiliate told ONE:

“In the end, in my head, you know, maybe next will be the title shot. It only gives me more motivation for this fight. When I beat Phetjeeja, I can earn a lot, so that also motivates me more and more. That also makes me focus on the fight better.”

Watch Dominczak face Phetjeeja at ONE Fight Night 38 streaming live in U.S. primetime on Prime Video for North American fans.
