Australian grappling icon Lachlan Giles is coming out of retirement to take on one of his idols.
The 39-year-old veteran is set to face a man many consider to be the greatest of all time in Brazil’s Marcelo Garcia.
The two square off at ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video, which goes down from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and will broadcast live in U.S. primetime on Friday, Dec. 5.

In a recent interview on Absolute MMA ST Kilda - Melbourne, the 39-year-old Giles talked about the magnitude of this upcoming showdown with Garcia:
“This [fight against Marcelo Garcia] should be a really exciting match. It's a really interesting stylistic matchup. So for me, it's a chance to, you know, try to prove myself in my weight class against, you know, the best to ever do it.”
This bout represents a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see two iconic legends go at it on the mats. It’s an absolute treat for fans to witness this showdown, especially now given the competitors’ mileage and age.
